Frequently Asked Questions

  • GTF is a not aligned to any political party or religious organisation, our interest is purely in seeing our communities uplifted.

As a registered Public Benefit Organisation, our financial records are scruitinised by our Board and by SARS to ensure that the donations we receive directly benefit the general public, and not a single targeted recipient.

We are from the community, and vested in the longevity of the community.

  • At this stage, we are currently in a proof of concept phase for the Foundation focusing on the Community Safety Department within the North Durban area. You can find out more information about the POC HERE.

  • During the unrest experienced in KZN in July 2021, a group of community members came together to try and help coordinate the efforts of the communities in the North Durban area to ensure that we minimised the breaches in law that were, reportedly, seen elsewhere in the Province and ensure that the, already stretched, local security sector were assisted, rather than hampered in their efforts.

It was therefore logical to focus on the area where relationships, and trust, had been established to seek to roll-out the POC.

  • Due to the running proof of concept, we have not been able to start involving volunteers as much as we would have liked.

If you are keen to get involved, we are starting to build a database of individuals, and where they are interested to get involved, via this LINK.

  • We currently have a few mechanisms to take donations/funding from both individuals and companies.

The information is collated on this page HERE.

  • Apart from the fact that your donation will go directly to implementing positive change in your community, as a PBO it means that all donations are tax deductible via the Section 18A certificate we will supply you, if requested.

This donation will part of your/your company’s charitable work back into the community.

  • Section 18A enables you, the taxpayer, who has made a donation to GTF to claim a tax deduction up to a certain limit. Broadly speaking, GTF donors are entitled to deduct the total value of their donations to GTF, up to a limit of 10% of your taxable income for that tax year.
